Synopsis
This piece is about the search for perfection and explores the idea that somewhere in the world is a manmade object so perfect that God himself might have made it. What does it mean to take on a challenge with standards so high that the attempt alone puts you in your own category? Perfection in art is a notion that mankind has chased for thousands of years. The idea is that art is a symbol of the divine — a symbol of God and perfection. The result has been different tools manipulating materials of all kinds throughout history and giving us a range of pieces we still admire today. It makes you wonder if 1000 years from now Brute Force will be a symbol of man's love for and use of the automobile and stand as gift to the automotive world. In this ten-minute film, we get to climb into the minds of designer Chris Brown and Owner Bob Matranga to hear their thoughts about the greatest hotrod ever made.
Inspiration for Art of the Car
When Chris Brown told Scott Council how they were making this hotrod, he was there for every nut, bolt, and bit of polished chrome. He saw firsthand how every element of the car had to be touched and changed in some way … all by hand. It became clear very quickly that this is not a car at all — it's a sculpture of the highest order. This car is a work of art that stands as a testament to the skill, creativity, and innovation of custom car work at its best. It's a symbol of modern tech married to nostalgia and the skills of the greatest car artist in the world.
